Project consisted of demolishing a 38-slip marina built in 1953 and building a 50-slip marina in the same footprint. There were 156 – 7” OD pipe piles and 16 – 12-3/4” OD pipe piles that supported 5000 SF of synthetic wood decking on the lower floor and 6000 SF of composite steel floor deck on the upper floor. Because of unforeseen conditions caused by blasted rock from the original construction of the marina, approximately 260 linear feet of 3 ft by 3 ft grade beams had to be constructed while Lake Austin was lowered to support 60 of the 7” OD pipe piles. Also, a reinforced gabion was built to support 35th Street.
